Apoloe APL-A580 Atomizers VS EGO-W F1 Atomizers

The similarity between the APL-A580 Atomizer and the EGO-W F1 are close, but let’s take a closer look and have a small review on performance and design. How do you decide which one is best for you?

The Ego-W F1 Atomizer tank system is designed like a pen-cig tank with a screw on cap. The inner tank atomizer slips snug into the sleeve. It is a snug fitting 1.5ml inner tank which allows for hooking the pen-style cap over pockets without the sleeve separating from the inner tank. It has a soft plastic mouth tip. It has a silicone atomizer plug in the atomizer tank which is designed to prevent liquid from escaping the atomizer cup into the mouthpiece. The EGO-W atomizer coil has 5 coil loops around a highly absorbent silica wick. The air notches are on the bottom of the atomizer base. When the sleeve is attached the air passes through the air notches where the tank screws onto the battery.

When cleaning the atomizer tank, you cannot remove the smokey blue tank tube from the base, the wicks can be pulled up out of the tank and washed under a tap and dried with a tissue gently. After drying the wicks you can do a quick dry burn to clean any residue from the coil.
The wicks can be pushed back into the tank after you dry them. You must screw this tank onto a battery before pushing the seal onto the cup. This prevents damage to the bottom seal.

The Apoloe APL A580 tank system is similar in design. But it holds just under 2ml. It fits loosely into it’s sleeve with a slight clicking sound. It has a twist latch dust cap without a pen-style hook. It is not designed to hang from pockets or be held from the sleeve. It has a hard plastic mouth tip. It has a silicone atomizer plug which can be adjusted to prevent gurgling and leaking.

The APL-A580 Atomizer has 9 coil loops around a highly absorbent wick.

The air holes are at the top of the base and hide under the sleeve.

When cleaning the atomizer tank, you can remove the clear blue tank tube from the base but it is not advised to do as it may crack, the wicks can be pulled up out of the tank and washed under a tap and dried with a tissue gently. After drying the wicks you can do a quick dry burn to clean any residue from the coil.
The wicks can be pushed back into the tank after you dry them. You must screw this tank onto a battery before pushing the seal onto the cup. This prevents damage to the bottom seal.

Performance-wise

Clearly the Apoloe will outperform with its extra coil loops around the wick, it has 9 loops.

The ego-W F1 has only 5 in comparison but still performs quite well.

The Apoloe has a better taste, the flavour and vapour production is outstanding. The reviews will also point out the Apoloe has outstanding flavour.

The mouth tip of the F1 has a minor plastic taste which over time will disappear; the apoloe mouth tip does not have this issue. The Apoloe mouth tip is slightly fatter and will not fit the F1 without some modification.

The Ego-W F1 plastic tube will not separate from the base, the apoloe tube does separate from the base, but not advised to remove the apoloe tank tube at all. There will be complications if you do.

The EGO-W f1 can be left on its side and may not leak or gurgle. The Apoloe does leak and will gurgle if you leave it on its side for a long time. The way to prevent it from gurgling is by adjusting the gap size around the wicks by turning slightly to the left or right. This is done by closing up the gap with the silicone plug. I believe the gap size is too large for the wicks so some minor adjustments may need to be made.

These are mass produced and both systems can have occasional differences in sleeve fitting, some may fit tighter than others into the sleeves. If you want your atomizer tank to fit tighter into the sleeve wrap a small amount of sticky tape around the atomizer tube, this will tighten the fit.

Each Tank System has its pros and cons, but in the comparison, if you are looking for a pen-cig design, choose the EGO-W f1. If you are looking for something that performs well but may need minor adjustment, choose the Apoloe.
